Gearing up

I have yet to start training. I'm debating on which training program to utilize. L, a friend who will do the 10K with me, sent me a link to training program by Hal Higdon. She like the cross-training aspect of his program. I haven't explored it just yet, but I need to get moving.

Upon further exploration of the site, I see he also has a 5K training program. I think I'll explore his site more this week. I want to do a 5K in April.

I also need to make a doctor's appointment. I would like to get a physical just to make sure all is okay health wise. The hard part of that is finding a doctor. For the past 4 years I haven't had a primary care doctor, I used the health center on campus. Now that I have health insurance with my job I have any number of doctors to choose from. Decisions. Decisions. So difficult at times.

How ironic, Ernise! I just joined a running club organized by Jeff Galloway, a former olympic runner. He has programs all over the US. We run twice a week at a local park. It's so much fun. By the end of the program, we'll be able to run a 5K. He has more advanced programs as well. Maybe I can run a local 5K with you! For more info: www.jeffgalloway.com.

Good for you Frankie! I visited his website and saw that he had running clubs in various locations. I wish I lived closer so that I could have joined such a club.

Shelynda joind a running club and she is running in a half-marathon this weekend in Miami.

I'm so excited that are you doing it as well. We'll definitely have to find one to run togehter. Maybe you should join Laurel, Judith and I in the 10K in the fall. :>)
